Our birth philosophy

People can spot inauthenticity a mile away. We didn't become doulas to sell you a product, or even a service. We became doulas because we desire, more than anything, what we believe EVERYONE desires: to be seen. Birth is different with every single pregnancy and can change minute by minute, and we aren’t meant to be treated as another number in a system. If we can be there to help you learn, grow, celebrate your successes and be at your side in your tough times, that's what makes our heart swell. What does that look like practically? That may be a handout we give you, hip squeezes during labor, encouragement to your partner, advocating for a desire on your birth plan, a postpartum hug, or simply giving you a sip of water. Whether you desire an unmedicated birth, a planned cesarean, or anything in between, we offer unbiased support. We don't know what your journey holds, but we’d love to walk it with you.

Brooke’s exercise philosophy

You are so much more than a number on a scale. We believe that being healthy requires total wellness: mind, body and spirit. Moving is something we were made to do, and we believe exercise can heal. Exercising while pregnant has numerous benefits, but we understand it's not for everyone. When baby arrives, there is a 4th trimester that is a special bonding time for you and baby. There are some gentle, core/pelvic floor strengthening exercises you can begin pretty soon after baby is born. After that 4th trimester, if you need more resting space before jumping back into a full-on workout routine, we completely understand that. If you are chomping at the bit to get back into the gym after you have your 6 week clearance, we hear you, too. Our goal is to meet you where are, and help you become your best self. You are strong and capable!
