My birth philosophy
People can spot inauthenticity a mile away. I didn't become a doula to sell you a product, or even a service. I became a doula because I desire, more than anything, what I believe EVERYONE desires: community. We were not meant to do this life alone, and we're certainly not meant to journey into motherhood on our own. I believe we need others. If I can be there to help you learn, grow, celebrate your successes and be at your side in your tough times, that's what makes my heart swell. What does that look like practically? That may be a handout I give you, hip squeezes during labor, encouragement to your partner, a postpartum hug, or simply giving you a sip of water. Whether you desire an all-natural birth, a planned c-section, or anything in between; I don't know what your journey holds, but I'd love to walk it with you.
my exercise philosophy
You are so much more than a number on a scale. I believe that being healthy requires total wellness: mind, body and spirit. Moving is something we were made to do, and I believe exercise can heal. Exercising while pregnant has numerous benefits, but I understand it's not for everyone. When baby arrives, there is a 4th trimester that is a special bonding time for you and baby. After that time frame, if you need more resting space before jumping back into a workout routine, I completely understand that. If you are chomping at the bit to get back into the gym after you have your 6 week clearance, I hear you, too. My goal is to meet you where are, and help you become your best self. You are strong and capable!
